Every job has burdensome tasks and duties. For many, their entire job is filled with stress with little occasions for joyful labor. Here’s a prayer for anyone facing the grind of a difficult week ahead

A Prayer For Doing Work You Don’t Want to Do

O Lord God, whose blessed Son came not to be served but to serve: Grant me strength and patience in those tasks and duties that are tiring and burdensome; mercifully deliver me from a complaining spirit and lead me to contentment in every circumstance. By your grace, establish the work of my hands this day so that every task I perform may be done with joy as unto our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

  1. Me too, Kit. I think finding language in prayer for regular struggles brings some kind of new energy to the struggle. Blessings on you as you enter your work this week.
